GrantClose vs Grant Frog
Both help you manage grants, but they start at different points. Here is where Grant Frog is the better choice and where GrantClose fits a small nonprofit that already has the award.
The short answer
Pick Grant Frog if: You write proposals as well as report on them, you are a consultant with clients, or you want someone to migrate your existing data.
Pick GrantClose if: You already hold the awards, you are the person who has to hit the report dates, and you want the award letter turned into a checked schedule and a closeout export.

Where Grant Frog is the better choice
- Writing and research. Grant Frog lists funder research across 200K foundations and an AI grant-writing assistant. GrantClose writes nothing and finds no funders.
- The proposal pipeline. Proposals, a grant content library, tasks and client management for consultants are core to it. GrantClose starts after the award is signed.
- Moving you in. It recommends a one-time, full-service data migration. GrantClose has no spreadsheet import yet, so existing awards are entered by hand or from the award letter.
- More grant records at the same price. Core lists 15 grant proposals tracked at $39 a month; GrantClose Pro covers up to 10 active awards at $39 a month (closed awards do not count).
Where GrantClose is the better fit
- Three seats at $39 a month. GrantClose Pro includes 3 seats. Grant Frog Core is listed with 1 user.
- Award-letter intake with the source shown. Upload a PDF or Word award letter and each extracted date appears with the sentence and page it came from. We did not find award-letter extraction on Grant Frog’s pricing or home pages.
- A closeout packet ZIP with an evidence index that carries each file’s SHA-256 hash. Not found on their public pages.
- A Free tier for 1 active award with every feature. Grant Frog lists a 14-day trial; we found no free plan on its pricing page.
