GrantClose vs Grantseeker
Both help you manage grants, but they start at different points. Here is where Grantseeker is the better choice and where GrantClose fits a small nonprofit that already has the award.
The short answer
Pick Grantseeker if: You want the lowest monthly price, unlimited storage, custom fields or funder search, or you manage federal funds and need that reporting.
Pick GrantClose if: You would rather confirm one rule per report than type every date, you want reminders to reach the right owner, and you want a packet to hand over at closeout.

Where Grantseeker is the better choice
- Entry price. Classic Premium is listed at $19.99 a month, about half of GrantClose Pro at $39. If tracking dates is all you need, that is hard to beat.
- Storage and fields. It lists unlimited document storage and custom fields. GrantClose Pro caps storage at 2 GB and uses a fixed set of fields.
- Funder prospecting. Its Prospecting tier adds funder search and 990 data. GrantClose has no prospecting.
- Federal funds. Pro lists federal funds and SEFA support, compliance checklists, SSO and an API. GrantClose is not built for federal reporting.
- Connected to a larger ecosystem. Grantseeker is part of Fluxx, so organizations that deal with Fluxx-run funders may find that useful.
Where GrantClose is the better fit
- Recurrence computed from the award period. Confirm a quarterly or annual rule once and GrantClose generates every report date from the award start and end, with six rules covering one-off, monthly, quarterly, semiannual, annual and days-after-end.
- Source sentence and page for each extracted date from an uploaded award letter, available on the Free plan. We did not find award-letter extraction on Grantseeker’s pricing page.
- Owner-routed reminders at 30, 14, 7, 1 and 0 days, then weekly while overdue, sent to the person who owns each deadline.
- A closeout packet ZIP with every deadline’s status and each evidence file’s SHA-256 hash in
index.csv. Not found on their pricing page.
